  There are regular ferry sailings between mainland Scotland and the linked islands of Lewis and Harris.

The ferry to Lewis sails between Stornoway and the west coast town of Ullapool, approximately 65 miles from Inverness.  The Harris ferry sails between Tarbert (Harris), Uig (Skye) and Lochmaddy (North Uist)
